Summer 2006

Rosalind did shine at the Chintimini KC show in Albany.  At 10yrs 4mths  "Much Ado About Jamar" (aka  Rosalind)  became an AKC ch.  At 14mths she moved to England with me, having a 5 point major and 3 single points with the AKC.  She had a good show career in the UK, including 2RCCs, class wins at the BGV Club Ch show, several seconds at Crufts, open show BOB wins and group wins.  Last year at 9½, I decided to try and finish her AKC championship.  First time out she won a 3 point major, so we were motivated.   Now at over 10 years Rosalind finishes her championship culminating a wonderful career, and is the oldest PBGV to do so with the American Kennel Club.   And best of all she is the mother of Isobel, so life is good!

Jamars Isobel, the jet setting little hound - the Virgin Atlantic frequent flyer, has spent 2 years in the USA, quickly becoming an AKC Champion. She made a wonderful first showing by going Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed out of a super entry at the Sacramento (California) Kennel Club on April 16, 2005.  Isobel is now an American champion finishing her championship at the Southern Oregon KC on 5th September. Her earlier British debut was equally impressive: 1st Junior Bitch - Bath Championship Show; 1st Junior Bitch - Border Union Championship Show; 1st Junior Bitch and the Reserve Challenge Certificate - Paignton Championship Show; 1st Junior Bitch - South East Hound Club; 1st Junior Bitch - City of Birmingham Championship Show; 1st Special Yearling Bitch - Driffield Championship Show. 2nd Post Graduate Bitch - CRUFTS 2004.  From her 2006 summer visit she has had another RCC at Three Counties CH Show in 2006 under judge Rod Price. Thanks to Virgin Atlantic Airlines, Isobel has free travel for life, as she was the first dog to fly with them, and the first dog to fly on the Pet Passport Scheme between England and North America.

Isobel, is somewhat tired of traveling (perhaps I am too?) and is now back in England where she continues her winning ways (and continues to be my canine companion in life).  But no doubt she will return again, on Virgin, to the West Coast of the USA to visit family and friends.

Isobel’s last litter is planned for 2008

Jamar Epiphany - Isobels baby daughter Pippa (sired by English & American Ch Tangaer Idris) is now all grown up.  In America with her mother in 2005, Pippa's debut was as impressive; Reserve Winners Bitch at Sacramento; Winners Bitch at the Rogue Valley Kennel Club; and Winners Bitch and Best of Breed from the puppy class on May 22nd 2006.  She is now back in the UK with us and will be in the show ring and also be mated in the autumn of 2007.
